3: DJ Khaled hit the media. He was able to get the media involved to help take his story to the masses. Elite Daily was one of the first to pick up his Snapchat story and when other journalists saw how popular that article was, they decided to cover it too. And so it was picked up, and shared again, and again, and again. And if that wasn’t enough DJ Khaled went at it again when he went lot at sea to start a new wave of media buzz. Each article promoting his snapchat and helping DJ Khaled become one of the fastest growing Snapchat users in history.
4: Make money. This is where it get’s interesting. DJ Khaled has created a huge following averaging over 2 million views per snapchat post. Now he can sell to his viewers whatever he wants. He has created his we the best store at wethebest.com , that has become so popular, that every piece of clothing in every size has been completely sold out, including every one of his $55 dollar wethebest sandals.
And it doesn’t end there, there will likely be some very valuable sponsorship offers coming to him. Dove Soap and Palmer’s Cocoa want to make sure that DJ Khaled keeps using their products. And to put this value in dollar terms, to market an ad on Facebook will cost somewhere around 1 cent per engagement. So to reach the same audience size on Facebook through Facebook ads would cost around $20,000! Multiply that with the number of snapchats he puts up a day, I will let you do the math.
