Question: I want to sell a property I own. I am the tenant of the property under the Pagdi System. It was bought in 1997. I've heard that 33% of the sale proceeds will have to be paid to the landlord. Is that correct? Can he demand more? How can I go about the sale?
Answer: Payment of 33% value is just a market practice and not a law, he can always demand for more. NOC for such transfer is required. Transfer of tenancy agreement to be stamped and registered.
