Maharashtra police issued a circular on July 3, asking all police stations across Maharashtra to pro-actively register FIRs against errant developers. But just 2 days after the circular was sent out- now it has been put on hold, waiting for Maharashtra Urban Development Ministries nod. Homebuyers say such a stern circular is much needed. On the other hand with this circular now doing the rounds developers are concerned. Developers say the proposed 'FIR solution ' for project delays will make them easy targets for both the police and buyers to misuse.
