Hawkers in Mumbai's Gandhi Market have been at the receiving end of the BMC action over the last couple of days.
Mumbai's civic body has been on a demolition drive in Mumbai's F-North Ward, clearing pavements of hawkers and vendors. While hawkers claim this is to make way for a parking lot, the civic body claims that the pavement contains water pipelines and hence, structures cannot be built on it.
