Question: I'm in the process of buying a ready possession flat. The builder has asked me to pay service tax on it. Should I pay?
Answer: When you buy a property under construction you will have to pay a certain amount of service tax, but if you buy a flat which is constructed and ready to move in then you do not have to pay any service tax. So, in this case, you will not have to pay any service tax.
