as posted by the channelExpert: Pannkaj Ghadiali, Managing Partner at PC Ghadiali and Co LLP.
Question: I sold a plot that was in the joint name of me and my wife. I plan to invest the gains in bonds. Can both my wife and I invest in bonds separately or can only one person invest in bonds?
Answer: If both of you have contributed towards the cost, both can invest in bonds separately. However, if the name of your wife was added just for the sake of convenience and you have contributed the entire cost, only you can invest in bonds.
