Question: I purchased a 3 BHK property worth Rs68 lakhs. Possession is expected around December 2016 or January 2017. Should I show the TDS payment while filing my I-T returns?

Answer: You are not required to show the TDS payment while filing your return of Income. However the TDS deducted by you has to be deposited along with Form 26QB within 7 days from the end of the month in which TDS was deducted. You are required to deduct TDS for every transaction or instalment paid by you. The said transactions are duly reflected in form 26 AS of the deductee.
