3:25Now PlayingThe Bombay high court on Tuesday (Oct 18) directed the Maharashtra government and the BMC to take steps to desilt and beautify Powai lake. A bench headed by Justice Vidyasagar Kanade heard a PIL by Shivshankar Joshi for rejuvenation of the lake. he PIL claimed the lake is being destroyed due to large-scale construction and quarrying. Joshi urged that the authorities be directed to desilt the lake and prohibit waste being dumped in it. The court had earlier directed the collector to convene a meeting and submit a report.
