Question: We have not received the Occupancy Certificate from the builder even after 7 years now. Approached the builder multiple times in all these years and have lately learnt he did not apply for one till date. Can you please let us know the legal route available to us to pursue further to get the OC and subsequently apply for A-Khata? We are unable to sell our properties due to this limitation now.
Answer: Depending on the where the property is situated the OC is been issued by the local authority. To occupy OC you should approach Municipal Corporation. OC will be issued after verification. Provisions vary on the locality.
