Question: I have declared immoveable property asset under IDS-1 during September 2016. What would be the period of holding of such property for purpose of computing capital gains on such property in case of sale?
Answer: There was an income disclosure scheme which was enforced till 30th Sep 2016, you could have declared any asset including a property. The value on 1st June 2016 is taken as the value for the purpose of charging tax which is at the rate of 45%. Holding period for immovable property is declared under IDS-1.
