Question: I have taken a loan of Rs. 33 lakh for a Rs. 60 lakh flat. I’m paying 9.55% interest rate to HDFC. I took this loan last year for 20 years. Should I switch my loan to SBI because of less interest rate? If yes, being alright with the EMI going up, should I go for 15 years of loan?
Answer: 9.55% being too high as an interest rate, you should surely switch. If interest rate is what is making you switch, I would ask you to consider Bank of Baroda as well. If your credit score is higher than 760 then look upto Bank of Baroda’s six home loan advantage. You can also look at private sector players. It is advisable to look at bank account linked home loans that really allow you to save interest rate.
