Question: I have almost finalised a 3 BHK property with Nexus Builders, Thane West. My budget is not beyond Rs. 1 Cr. and the builder is quoting Rs. 1.4 Cr. Should I go ahead with the deal?

Answer: If what you can spend is Rs.1 Cr. paying Rs. 40 lakh extra might not be a good idea. When you stretch your budget too much, you are compromising the quality of life. I would recommend you to check out other properties in Thane West. Best thing to do is try negotiating with the builder. Because at some stage you might find it difficult to pay the EMIs. As far as the developer is concerned, he has a good track record. I would say too much of a stretch isn’t a good idea and you should consider other projects that fit in your budget in Thane area.
