The nod to axe these trees was given on the condition that these need to be transplanted to another location but these transplanted trees were left to rot. The agencies in question - the BMC and the MMRDA maintain these trees are alive. The Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (MMRDA) has even received money for transplanting these trees.
