4:07Now PlayingResponding to an RTI query on demonetised notes, the RBI has said that the Rs 500 and Rs 1000 bills returned to banks are still being “processed in all earnest”. Sophisticated currency verification and processing machines are being used to establish the total number of currency bills returned and to weed out those that are fake. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, had on November 8 last year banned the use of old Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes. The opposition parties, including the Congress and Trinamool Congress have decided to observe the 1st anniversary of demonetisation as ‘Black Day’.
