A survey by Jan Arogya Abhiyan has found that there is a severe shortage of medicines in district hospitals in Pune, Satara, Solapur, Osmanabad & Nagpur in Maharashtra.

The Pune based NGO has also found that the lack of medicines has forced the patients to incur extra expenditure.
