Mirror Now in 2017, appealed to various Government officials including Central Government to look after the matter of Child Lock in commercial vehicles. There have been a number of cases where the driver has misused the child lock to sexually assault the customer.
The government made it mandatory to remove the child lock, but the Ola and Uber drivers have denied that they won't remove child lock, and Drivers of Uber & Ola cabs in Bengaluru even said that if women drink & party till late night, drivers will assault them.
At what point will the women in this country be safe?
