1. The hostage crisis in Bandipore in Jammu and Kashmir came to an end as the security forces blew up a house in which terrorists had taken two people hostage. After initially taking two people hostage, one man was released and a minor was held by the terrorists but he was later killed by the terrorists. Security forces managed to kill one of the terrorists.
2. A woman in Kerala has alleged that she was raped at the CPIM office last year. The case came to light after the police found an abandoned infant in Palakkad and they traced the mother who alleges now that she was raped and impregnated allegedly by a CPIM party member. The party has denied any ties with the accused.
3. BJP announced their first list of candidates for Lok Sabha Elections 2019. A total of 182 candidates are announced in the first list. Prime Minister Narendra Modi to contest from Varanasi. BJP president Amit Shah to contest from Gandhinagar. Home Minister Rajnath Singh to contest from Lucknow.
