50:24Now Playing19 young boys and girls from the state of Telangana committing suicide due to their marks in the Telangana State Board Intermediate examinations. The deaths triggered massive state-wide protests which prompted even Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao to take notice and call a review meeting at Pragati Bhawan. It was later revealed that out of the 9.5 lakh students who appeared for the Class 11 and 12 examinations for the Telangana state board, as many as 3 lakh failed. While the amount of pressure exerted on students in India, it is no open secret, the deaths of 19 young boys and girls is a rude awakening for not just those in power but also the country's education system.
