IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt and Police Constable Pravinsinh Jhala to life imprisonment in 1990 custodial death case. Bhatt and Jhala were found guilty under IPC section 302 (murder). Sanjiv Bhatt, who was posted as an Additional Superintendent of Police in Gujarat's Jamnagar in 1990, detained over hundred people for communal riots in Jamjodhpur town of the district, one of the detained persons, had died in a hospital after he was released.
