18:24Now PlayingOn The Last Word with Tanvi Shukla tonight, A woman from the National Capital who is a student of the Jawaharlal Nehru University was allegedly raped by a cab driver in Delhi on Friday night. According to the student's statement, the incident occurred after she booked the cab to return home from a friends house and she was found in a disturbed state at a bus stand near IIT Delhi on Saturday morning. She later managed to reach the police station but the police asked her to leave because she had requested for a woman officer and there was no woman cop on duty at the police station. The woman is now seeking legal action against her rapist and the police officials who refused to help her. The cab driver is currently absconding.
We ask - For how long will the police continue to let the women of our country down? If these kinds of crime can still happen in the streets of #Delhi if the police can’t help the victims, what have we come down to? For how long will this happen?
