This Act got the approval from the Parliament last month. From now on violating traffic rules and getting away with it will not be easy. The 63 new clauses under the amended Motor Vehicle Act come into force from today. Meanwhile, the debate over stiff fines across the country has intensified with many claiming this will only increase corruption on the road and there are is also a view that the penalties will prove difficult to implement.
