A group of over 500 students and faculty of top educational institutions including those from IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Indore, IIT Madras, Gujarat University and AMU have written an open letter, denouncing the amended citizenship act.
"The Act is discriminatory and violative of the basic structure of the Indian Constitution. It is inconsistent with the cherished values of equality under law and secularism," they wrote in the open letter.
