as posted by the channelSpurious alcohol deaths have been reported in Andhra Pradesh. Victims consumed alcohol-laced mixed with sanitiser. After consumption victims fell unconscious. 8 people died due to consuming such liquor. 5 died on the way to the hospital while 3 died at the hospital.
Pramod says the deaths have occurred near a temple in the Prakasam area of Andhra Pradesh. This area has been declared as a containment zone due to the rising number of COVID cases. There was no availability of liquor in that area. Police are investigating the case. Empty sanitiser bottles have been recovered from the area which had about 80% of ethyl alcohol. One of the victims who died confessed that they did consume alcohol.
