Varanasi STF received a tip-off after which they chased his car in the morning. While he was gunned down his 4 accomplices escaped.
Cross firing was carried out and Hanuman Pandey was shot. Alok says in this ongoing operation, Hanuman Pandey was accused in over 10 cases of extortion and murder. He was also close to the Munna Bajrangi and Muktar Ansari gang. A case was registered against him recently under the Arms Act. Varanasi STF tipped the Lucknow STF. Police investigations are being carried out.
