Amid the monsoon mayhem in Karnataka, heavy rains have triggered landslides in Chikmagalur, Karnataka. Due to the landslide, the vehicular movement has been halted on the Sringeri-Mangalore road. The massive landslide has disrupted road communication.

The devastating effects of the landslides in the state due to the heavy rains have been increasing. IMD has issued a red alert in Karnataka as monsoon mayhem is said to wreak havoc in the city. The Chief Minister of Karnataka BS Yediyurappa has released Rs 50 crore for relief and rescue in these areas. Several roads have been waterlogged due to incessant rains.
