as posted by the channelKalyan Dombivali Municipal Corporation (KDMC) issues show-cause notices to more than 70% of private hospitals for overcharging Coronavirus patients. KDMC found that out of 23 private hospitals in Kalyan Dombivali area, 15 hospitals have overcharged COVID-19 patients. The amount of overcharging goes up to 31 lakh rupees. KDMC has refunded 50% amount back to the patients, the rest refund process is going on.
This comes to light when the audit committee set up at every private hospital received complaints from the relatives that they were being overcharged. The audit committee issued show-cause notices asked for a reply and found that 15 hospitals had overcharged patients. These hospitals did not follow the government’s fixed rates for treatment, overcharged for PPE too.
