Devotees gathered around a temple in Raichur, Karnataka where people were found violating COVID norms and guidelines. The devotees were seen not wearing protective masks and not following social distancing norms. There were no local police officers to enforce the COVID. Hundreds of devotees were found ignoring the social norms in order to take part in the temple procession in Raichur district of Karnataka.
It is also reported that the festival took place without any proper permission from the district administration and no police officials were deployed in the area to disperse the crowd or to enforce law and order. The Karnataka government passed an order which categorically mentioned that temple processions are not allowed and it is only now that religious institutions have opened up but certain protocols have to be followed.
