Hindu Munnani's leader Kadeswara Subramanium has raised questions as to why the government does not show the same enthusiasm in celebrating Ganesh Chathurthi unlike it has shown to keep liquor shops in the State and even going all the way to Supreme Court to keep them open.
Kadeswara also alleged that CM has taken such a decision based on advice given by officers with Naxal thoughts.
On Friday, Hindu Munnani held Ganesh Chathurthi inaugural ceremony against orders in Chennai.
Hindu Munnani cadres tied holy thread and lay ceremonial pole in front of the temple at Triplicane, Chennai.
Cops reach on time, remove the pole and disperse the crowd.
