On The Urban Debate with Tanvi Shukla, as exams are being held amidst the COVID pandemic, the question of safety and students being stressed out was discussed. Conversations over restarting education continues, the Supreme Court has rejected the plea seeking postponement of NEET and JEE exams. The question as to can we pull off this mammoth task and if the exams are conducted via offline mode, can we ensure the safety of the students? Should India look at re-opening the educational institutions?

Sayantan Biswas, Petitioner, Says that the Standard Operating Guidelines can be implemented in examination centres, but questions as to what SOPs can be implemented in the environment. He also says that parents, police, transport workers, and others are involved in the exam process will eventually be at risk. Students want to give exams without being stressed about their lives.

'The Supreme court in its eternal wisdom has spoken about how long we are going to wait to hold examinations' says Aiyshwarya M, Congress, she also questions as to why the Supreme Court is holding virtual meetings? Some students have to travel for 300-400 kilometres for exams and only two-three percent are in favour of exams being held, says Anubha Sahai, Advocate and President, Indiawide Parents Association.
