Revenue Minister RB Udhayakumar and Cooperatives Minister Sellur K Raju have voiced out to make Madurai as the administrative capital of Tamilnadu.

RB Udhayakumar urged the Tamil Nadu government to make Madurai the administrative capital of the State claiming that it would help people from 12 surrounding districts.

Mentioning how the Madurai bench of Madras Highcourt had benefited people from the neighbouring districts, Udhayakumar stated that it will bring industrial growth and employment opportunities.

The Revenue Minister of who is also from Madurai district stated that making Madurai an administrative Capital would bring economical growth and employment to the surrounding area.

Joining him was Sellur K Raju, the minister for Cooperatives who stated the Political importance given to Madurai by AIADMK stalwarts and former Chief Minister of the States, MGR and Jayalalitha.
