Liquor stores were opened in Tamil Nadu from 7th May barring Chennai.
In Tamil Nadu, liquor shops are run by State government under the banner TASMAC which made 30,000 crore rupees as profit in 2019.
Though several voices gave raised concern pointing out that the infection numbers in the City are an average 1,100 per day, State has decided to go ahead and open the liquor stores.
