Pune: COVID-19 cases are rapidly increasing in the city and the health infrastructure is in shambles. 95% of the ventilator ICU beds are occupied. Only 20% of the ICU beds are available for the patients. The average daily count of cases has reached 2000. Two private hospitals have 800 beds lying unoccupied.

The health infrastructure in Pune needs attention urgently. Due to increasing rain, the facilities have remained shut. Jumbo facilities are not ready,1600 beds wasted. Pune Mayor Murlidhar M speaks to Mirror Now, says if the cases increase a third jumbo facility will be set up. Two will be ready soon for usage. He also speaks of the availability of beds in the jumbo facilities.
