13 year old boy who was returning from his friend's home was stopped by a police officer near Ondiputhur and allegedly brutally thrashed for coming out during total Sunday lockdown.

His parents were shocked to find bruises in his arms and legs and when inquired, he narrated what happened.

Upset parents reached the police station and demanded action against the police officer.

Hearing the issue, City Commissioner Sumith Charan had transferred to the officer, identified as Durgaraj pending an inquiry.

This has happened on the same day when a Minister was caught entering a temple premises and taking a dip on a nearby river.

AIADMK minister bends rule, visits temple and takes 'snaanam' on a total lockdown Sunday.

While entire Tamil Nadu came to a stand still AIADMK minister visits Bhavani Sangameswarar temple and takes a 'snaanam' in river Cauvery flowing adjacent to the temple at Erode.

When questioned, Rajendra Balaji and said that he came over to collect holy water for his family temple.

Questions are behind revised over how he was allowed to break total lockdown rules and visit the time with full police protection!
