7:37Now PlayingMirror Now's Santia Gora speaks on the PMC Bank scam. On 23rd September, it will be the completion of one year of RBI imposing withdrawal restrictions on Punjab and Maharashtra cooperative bank.
The depositors of PMC bank wanted to stage a protest on 23rd Sep, marking this one-year completion of the imposition of withdrawal restrictions under the Banking Regulations Act. But citing COVID as a reason, Mumbai police has sent individual notices to the depositors asking them to not to protest.
Interestingly, this is happening at the same time when Maratha reservation protests happened at 18 locations in Mumbai for 02 hours. And despite having no police permission, Maratha reservation protests happened in police presence. The PMC depositors feel that this is discrimination against them as under the same circumstances, others are allowed to protest on various issues, but not them. Lakhs of depositors are fighting since last one year for their hard-earned money.
