as posted by the channelA recent study by W.H.O has revealed that Remdesivir, a medication used to treat Covid-19 patients has no effect on improving the survival rate of people suffering from the virus. The anti-viral medication has been one of the first medicines to be used to treat the Covid-19 virus all across the globe.
The World Health Organisation conducted trials for four potential medications, including Remdesivir, across 30 countries on 11,266 patients.
The medication was originally developed to treat Ebola and Hepatitis C by Gilead Sciences Pharmaceutical Company.
The four drugs used in the trial were Remdesivir, Hydroxychloroquine, Lopinavir and Interferon. The drugs given in various combinations to the patients, increase no chances of survival, states the W.H.O study.
