as posted by the channelA Shaurya Chakra Award winner Balwinder Singh Sandhu was shot dead by two unidentified men in the Tarn Taran district of Punjab.
According to the police, two biker men shot Sandhu four times while he was working in his office. His death comes months after the State government of Punjab removed his security personnel.
Balwinder Singh and his family were awarded the Shaurya Chakra Award back in 1993 for fighting the terrorists in the early nineties. Since then, the family remained on a terrorist hit list.
Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has ordered for S.I.T team to probe in the matter.
The family is currently questioning the government’s decision of withdrawing the security which would have avoided the fatal death.
