The Bhartiya Janata Party released a manifesto for Bihar Poll was certain promises were made to the people. One of their main promises was distributing free COVID-19 vaccines in Bihar, but only if they got elected.
This free vaccine distribution promise irked the opposition parties, which resulted in numerous slandering remarks. Some parties even termed promise as a bribe for voters.
But, should vaccine distribution be used as an election campaign promise? If Free Vaccine is the need, shouldn't it be extended to all states? In a diverse income country, should vaccine be made free for all?
On one hand, RJD’s Syed Faisal Ali says ‘The BJP is trying to fool the voters of #Bihar. This is a desperate attempt to regain their lost ground: RJD's Syed Faisal Ali’.
While on another hand Congress; Dr Shama says ‘The EC should take strict note of this. It is kind of a threat. Secondly, the vaccination is on a trial stage so isn't this a false promise? And why free vaccine only for Bihar? This shows that this is an election gimmick’
