Heavy downpour in Bengaluru has left several low lying areas completely flooded. Visuals from various parts of the city show severe waterlogging & inundation. More visuals from Koramangala 4 & 6th block showed roads flooded with water up to 5 feet. These low lying areas have been facing the issue for years now and little has been done to find a permanent solution.
Captain Ganesh Karnik of Bharatiya Janta Party says that the uncontrolled & unplanned urbanisation and badly managed urban development issues have contributed in this. Reverting to this, Mirror Now's Sahar Zaman says, "We've identified the causes of this. But it's about Governments having to fix it."
Mahesh Palawat, Vice president, Meteorology And Climate Change SkymetWeather says, "This is climate change taking place gradually. Reason being that greenhouse gases are increasing, global warming and rising air temperature."
