The farmers will now be engaged in a dialogue that was one of their main demands which were to find a middle ground. ‘Farmers stand to gain a lot when potentially the private sector invests in storage & warehousing. We are ready to have repeated dialogues to clear any apprehensions that the farmers have’, says Tuhin A Sinha. ‘Lack of sincere dialogues and the distrust that exists between the farmers and the Central Govt has resulted into Farmers’ Delhi Protest’, says Kailash Singh Deo, a former member of parliament, Lok Sabha, BJD. Avik Saha, Convenor of Jai Kisan Andolan, The Farmers Wing Of Swaraj Abhiyan explains that the central government must be aware of it bu now and they should set an agenda for the discussion. Maheshinder Singh Grewal, Senior Vice President, and Spokesperson, Akali Dal, states that today was indeed a sad day as the government used water cannons on the farmers. He further adds that it is their democratic right to protest peacefully and march in Delhi.
