2:35Now PlayingToxic foam has covered Madurai's Vaigai river and Sellur pond in Tamil Nadu. As per reports, the foam is a result of the mixing of wastewater and rainwater. The level of water in Madurai's water bodies had risen due to the heavy rains that lashed Madurai Friday night. Officials from the fire department were summoned to spray water to get rid of the form that has got collected on the banks of the river and over a bridge in the Sellur area. Meanwhile, as per the regional weather office, a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal on November 30 could lead to more rainfall in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry from December.
