4:46Now PlayingBMC has geared up for the COVID vaccine. BMC has prepared a blueprint regarding the distribution, storage, and vaccination of the COVID vaccine.
Today Task forced had a meeting with BMC in which they had a detailed discussion about distribution, storage. As per the blueprint there will be 5 sections in the plan first is storage, we have an adequate storage facility available in medical college hospitals also in Mumbai's Kanjurmarg area we are making an additional storage facility. Kanjrmarg facility will be ready by end of this month. 2nd is the Transportation plan. We have discussed that in detail how to carry it at different centers from Storage facility. BMC has additional Cold storage boxes where we can maintain vaccines with the required temperature.
As of now, BMC has identified 8 vaccination center for healthcare workers which includes 4 medical college hospitals and 4 peripheral hospitals, two each in eastern and western suburbs.
BMC Wi is giving special training to people who will be involved in this entire process.
The healthcare worker will be getting the vaccine first. We have got all data of healthcare workers who had worked during pandemics. This data is of 1.25lakh healthcare workers we will cover it with 10-15 days.BMC will be doing this on their own and no third party will be involved in this. This will help to curb the chances of black marketing of vaccines. With each team there one vigilant officer. As of now, we have decided to have 500 such team's this team will be having 5 members which include support staff and security staff.
2nd dosage of the vaccine depends on the type of vaccine. Some require a second dosage after 21 days, some vaccines requires 2nd dosage after 28 days. Once you get the vaccine personal will get intimated by BMC about the second dosage.
