The new COVID strain is 70% more transmissible, following which many countries suspended their flights to and from the United Kingdom. India was amongst those countries, who suspended their flights with the United Kingdom for the time being. United Kingdom has now stated that they have found another COVID strain, this being the second mutant strain, which reportedly came to the UK from South Africa. Two new cases have been detected in the United Kingdom. According to the UK Health Secretary, the second mutant virus is even more contagious than the first strain.
As new mutant coronavirus strain are found with greater infectivity in the UK, cannot rule out the possibility of a second wave. It can theoretically be far more intense than the first one, says Dr Rajesh Parikh.
