The number of new COVID-19 cases in Tamil Nadu exceeded 1,000, with 945 people testing positive for the virus and eight more dying. Although the regular count in Chennai was 395, after three to four months, the cases in Chengalpattu and Coimbatore districts had surpassed 100.
In the last few days, the number of tests performed in the state has risen. In the last 24 hours, a total of 71,696 people were checked. A total of 71,888 samples were tested. Eight people were killed, according to the state. Chennai was responsible for five of the deaths, while Chengalpattu, Tiruvannamalai, and Vellore each had one.
