The NCT Bill raised by the NDA Government was passed in the Lok Sabha, however, the Rajya Sabha saw a mega ruckus. Along with revolt, multiple adjournments against the GNCTD Amendment Bill was also tabled.
Is there merit to what the Opposition is saying, that this bill takes away power from Delhi Government? Congress has been in power, how did it work then, suddenly it has become a problem that we need to change the entire structure? Will the NCT Amendment Bill put an impact on AAP Government?
BJP's Charu Pragya says that 'Times in Delhi has shown us that a clear & written division of power is important & we can't have clash'. Whereas Aam Aadmi Party's Reena Gupta says that 'Before the 2018 SC judgement, the work of L-G was to stop anything which elected Delhi government was trying to do. It's only because of this we went to SC, to get clarity. There was no reason to bring out this amendment'.
