In the Urban Debate today, Tanvi Shukla raises questions on those farmers leaders and political parties backing a high-scale protest amid a pandemic. While farmers decide to renew their protest tomorrow against Farm Laws, 12 political parties support their move amid India's alarming Covid surge and our health infra still gasping under pressure. "Since 25 years, 25 lakh farmers committed suicide - if #FarmLaws aren't taken back, suicide numbers will go up anyway; If Centre meets our demands, we will leave Delhi borders the next minute," Abhimanyu Kohar, National Coordinator, Rashtriya Kisan Mahasangh, said on the panel. In response to Rashtriya Kisan Mahasangh's Abhimanyu Kohar, R P Singh of BJP says, "We are requesting with folded hands not to hold any protests at the moment; Govt will speak to you (farmer organizations) once the situation eases."
