Madras High Court has issued statements to the Central and State governments pertaining to cases related to members of the LGBTQ+ community. In an inclusive and progressive order the Madras High Court has urged the Centre to step up measures to create awareness and eliminate prejudice against members of the LGBTQ+ community by organising sensitisation programs. In February this year, the Centre had opposed same-sex marriage in Court. This order comes when the world is in the middle of celebrating the Pride Month.
