3:39Now PlayingAssam's indigenous Muslims have achieved an agreement with the state government's planned new population program, which includes a two-child policy, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said today. He said he'll try to reach a similar deal with Bengali-speaking religious members next. Chief Minister Sarma was set to meet with roughly 150 intellectuals from the Muslim community today to kick off his government's largest outreach initiative for Muslims. He was scheduled to engage in-depth conversations on minorities' development and the implementation of the two-child policy. He stated that eight subcommittees will be formed to address issues such as health, education, population stabilization, cultural identity, financial inclusion, and skill development, among others. Within three months, they will present a report and meet again to create a road map.
