Banerjee had claimed that Justice Chanda is close to BJP. While announcing the order Justice Kaushik Chanda has said that it is so sumber for a judge's integrity but he doesn’t want controversy raised by some trouble mongers. The HC also slapped a fine of Rs. 5 Lakh on Mamta Banerjee for how the application seeking recusal was moved. Also, Justice Chanda released the election petition of Banerjee from his court.
