After the DMK government coming to power, the Tamil Nadu government announced ₹ 25 lakh each to the family members of the doctors who lost their lives fighting the pandemic as solatium in the May month. But, even after months, the solatium has reached only to the two families. In its report IMA has stated that so far 110 doctors have lost their lives fighting Covid in Tamil Nadu, in that 57 lost their life in the first wave and 53 died in the second wave.
