On Wednesday, while refusing bail to a person named Javed booked under sections 3,5, and 8 of the Uttar Pradesh Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act, 1955, Allahabad High Court observed that a cow is the foundation and symbol of Hindu religion and culture and it should be declared national animal. The Allahabad High Court single-judge bench headed by Justice Shekhar Kumar Yadav in the hearing said that it is important that the cow be declared a national animal contemplating the current situation. He further added that cow protection should be made a “fundamental right of Hindus”. Watch!
